Pastoral Care is a one-on-one ministry arm of the church. Our heart is to help our Family of Faith stay connected during times of stress, pain, grief or celebration. We also want our people to feel connected when they walk through our doors. With the help of visitation, Biblical counseling and an inviting presence we want to be an encouragement to our people.
Our ministers & deacons regularly visit our members and their relatives when they are hospitalized to offer prayer and comfort during their stay. If you are hospitalized, it is important that you (or a family member) inform the main church office as soon as possible. Please email or call us at 865.688.4343 and give us:
A death of a family member can be a very difficult time. When the church office is notified of a death, the ministers contact the family as soon as possible, offer scripture and prayer support, and assist with funeral plans and arrangements, if needed. Our Pastoral Care Ministry is designed to provide spiritual guidance and compassion during this time.
GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. The next class will begin in August. For information, contact Kim Underwood at 865.688.4343 or email. www.griefshare.org

WMBC does not have a professional counseling ministry. However, WMBC has partnered with Ebenezer Counseling Services to offer these services:
Our ministers are available for basic Biblical counseling only and have the resources for referral assistance for long term and in depth counseling. Contact the Pastoral Care office at 865.688.4343x124 or email.
The Pastoral Care staff extends personal ministry by regularly visiting those members who are confined to home or in facilities such as nursing homes and assisted living. In addition to the Pastoral Care staff, homebound ministry volunteers and deacons maintain regular contact with these members through monthly visits, cards, and phone calls. To participate in the blessing of this ministry, contact the Pastoral Care office at 865.688.4343x124 or email.
Our desire is to help our members to attend Worship Services and/or Connect Groups by providing basic transportation to those who are in need. To request a pick-up or volunteer to drive a route, email or call the Pastoral Care office at 865.688.4343x124.
